QEEG Assessment, Neurofeedback Consultations, Education for new practitioners.
I began working with biofeedback and neurofeedback in 1974. My clients have included children and adults with ADHD and other learning problems, chronic pain, addiction disorders and much more. I currently maintain a private practice, provide consulting services for new and existing neurotherapy programs and work as an instructor, training others to become neurotherapy practitioners.
My master’s degree is in psychology. I am certified in biofeedback and neurofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) and in QEEG by the QEEG Certification Board.
Quantitative EEG assessment services are available for individuals and include visual inspection, database comparison and a comprehensive written report. EEG recordings will be performed by another practitioner. The service is also available for professional practitioners who provide their own EEG recording and therefore only include the visual inspection, database comparison and written report. Databases utilized include NeuroGuide from Applied Neuroscience Incorporated and LORETA developed by the key Institute in Zürich Switzerland.
John teaches a four-day comprehensive EEG biofeedback (neurofeedback) training program approved by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA) for the didactic portion of the requirements for neurofeedback certification. He also teaches a three-day quantitative EEG training program that qualifies for the didactic portion of the certification in quantitative EEG developed by the Quantitative EEG Certification Board (QEEG-B). These classes are organized and sponsored by the Stens Academy at www.Stensacademy.com. He has taught classes at the graduate level in neurophysiology and in applied psychophysiology, primarily for psychotherapy oriented graduate programs.
John is available to teach courses and/or workshops of any length on a variety of subjects including applied psychophysiology, quantitative EEG, the relationship between the brain and central nervous system and behavior and other topics associated with biofeedback and neurofeedback. He also has a special interest in meditation and is available to speak about the neurophysiological correlates of meditation and the EEG patterns associated with meditative states. He teaches methods for achieving such states through biofeedback and neurofeedback training.
